The Las Vegas LA electric high-speed rail line just broke ground

electrical supply house near me

California is where it started and where we originally dominated and started our growth. Since then, CED has become one of the nation’s largest privately owned electrical distributors in a $115 billion industry, with 700+ locations around the country. Brightline West will be a privately owned, 218-mile, all-electric high-speed rail service that will include a flagship station in Las Vegas (pictured above), with additional stations in Apple Valley, Hesperia, and Rancho Cucamonga. At speeds of more than 186 miles per hour, trains will take passengers from Las Vegas to Rancho Cucamonga, which is 37 miles east of downtown Los Angeles, in just 2 hours and 10 minutes – twice as fast as the normal drive time. Overseeing Tuesday’s panel and advocating for the administration’s federal action plan was Doug Emhoff, husband of Vice President Kamala Harris. To limit power outages and make your home more resilient, consider going solar with a battery storage system.

The family initially said they lost her “to the disease of mental illness.” Then, weeks later, Ashley Judd confirmed during a “Good Morning America” interview that her mother had used a gun to end her life. “I’m here because I am my beloved mother’s daughter and on the day she died, which will be the two-year anniversary in one week, the disease of mental illness was lying to her and with great terror convinced her that it would never get better,” Judd continued. Graybar, a Fortune 500 company, specializes in supply chain management services, and is a leading North American distributor of high quality components, equipment, and materials. The 56-year-old also opened up about her own mental health struggles and successes. She experienced childhood depression after being molested at age 7, she said, and, because of that she knew well the feeling of “not wanting to be here.” However, she started treatment in for her unresolved childhood grief and sexual trauma. Judd said she relied on her “chosen family” to process her mother’s death, as Aloe Blacc did with his own after Avicii’s suicide.

Unicorn Rainbow Cake Buttercream, 5-Layer

I recommend keeping it in a tall cake carrier as that’s the easiest way to keep it covered. From the number of layers to the colors, there are many ways to customize this unicorn layer cake. I've been a professional chocolatier & baker for over 30 years, have written 5 cookbooks, and love creating fun food for holidays and special occasions. I love using modeling chocolate, also known as candy clay or chocolate clay, because it tastes like chocolate, but fondant will work too. You can find my easy 2-ingredient modeling chocolate recipe, here. Pipe swirls of purple cake batter into the cake pan.

Frosting

Cinderella Cakes also affords the option to get matching themed cupcakes to go with any themed cake, which is ideal for birthday parties. Order birthday cakes from Cinderella Cakes online here. Paleo folks also love Sweet Laurel’s chocolate keto cake and the rich, equally minimalist mocha cake. If you’re looking for a paleo birthday cake in Los Angeles, this is the best bakery for it.

Fun Ways to Celebrate St Patrick’s Day with Kids

Cool the cakes to room temperature, then frost and decorate per one of our unicorn designs in this article. We’ve included a basic recipe for the most delightful rainbow unicorn sponge, too (you can skip the rainbow coloring if you like.) Read on to find out more. Eventually I settled on what could almost be described as a tie-dye effect—big swirls and patches of bold colors mixing together all over the cake—and I fell in love. When I posted the Unicorn Milkshakes recipe a few weeks ago, I promised that you hadn’t heard the last about unicorns from me.

To achieve the marbled effect, estimate one third of the batter and transfer batter into a small bowl. Alternate the plain vanilla batter and chocolate batter into the prepared cake pans and use a jam knife to cut through the cake batter for a marbled effect. Piped roses look fantastic, and are the perfect choice for unicorn ‘hair’ on your cake. This fun unicorn cake idea is from Pinterest – all it takes is a plain white cake and strands of multi-coloured fondant ‘hair’ that you can just lay into place.

What Are Advanced Cake Ideas?

My daughter loved pink and purple so I stuck with that. The unicorn cake recipe on this page uses 2 different flavors. Top tier is a marble cake and bottom tier is an orange cake. Options for the mane - If you wish to decorate the unicorn's mane in buttercream, you can replace the fondant flowers with buttercream rosettes. The buttercream rosettes can be used on a fondant covered cake as well as a buttercream covered cake. My Granddaughter will be 5, so this is the cake she wants Grandma to make.

Roll out the white modeling chocolate and cut it using the larger teardrop cutter. Roll out the pink and cut it using the smaller cutter. You can also simply use a knife or kitchen shears to cut out the shapes. I found a large wooden cutting board to arrange my unicorn cake on for decorating, though a sheet pan or other large flat serving platter would work well. I do highly recommend you use a piping bag to apply the frost this unicorn cake, but if you don’t have one that’s ok.

You could also play with the color of your cake batter, a rainbow cake or a piƱata cake would be a great idea for a unicorn-themed cake. If you’ve never decorated a cake before (or only did it once or twice), these are the cakes that you should pay attention to. To make the unicorn cake topper, spread out a small sheet of wax paper onto a moveable flat surface (like a cookie sheet). Add the white chocolate chips to a microwave-safe bowl, then reserve about ⅛ cup of them and set aside.

Hine and her brothers donated money to the MCLS, which purchased the pans. The collection is inspired by a baking lending collection at the Way Public Library in Perrysburg, Ohio. MCLS also has a circulating collection of pans donated by MCLS staff member Joyce Taepke.

Several branches offer house plants and garden seeds that don’t have to be returned. To learn more about the MCLS and its offerings, visit mymcls.com. Hine said her family frequently visited the library to borrow cookbooks and other materials. She and her brothers hope their donation can add even more diversity to the library's collection.

I’m sure the Unicorn sprinkle mix would look gorgeous with any pastel tones. Carefully remove the excess white chocolate from the edges of the cookie cutter, then release the center from the mold. More offerings in the MCLS’ “Library of Things” are planned, including a collection of pickleball and traffic cone sets. The Bedford Branch Library has Sphero Minis that are available to borrow, and many branches have circulating collections of artwork.

For a professional finish, box up your bakes in our cupcake boxes for safe delivery to the venue. Whipped Bake Shop made this delightfully simple and eye-catching unicorn cake by laying pieces of fondant on to a plain white cake to create the unicorn features. Divalent transition metal ions show distinct preferences for specific coordination geometries (for example, square planar, tetrahedral and octahedral) with ion-specific optimal sidechain–metal bond lengths. RFdiffusion provides a general route to building up symmetric protein assemblies around such sites, with the symmetry of the assembly matching the symmetry of the coordination geometry. We designed C4 protein assemblies with four central histidine imidazoles arranged in an ideal Ni2+-binding site with square-planar coordination geometry (Fig. 5b). Diverse designs starting from distinct C4-symmetric histidine square-planar sites had good in silico success with the histidine residues in near ideal geometries for coordinating metal in the AF2-predicted structures (Supplementary Fig. 9).

The particular proteins used were chosen so that the angle of the interface would satisfy the requirements for cube formation when propagated. The trimeric protein 2-keto-3-deoxy-6-phosphogalactonate (KDPGal) aldolase and dimeric N-terminal domain of FkpA protein were connected by a flexible linker (Figure 14). When mixed, they self-assembled into a porous cube with an outer diameter of 225 ƅ and an inner diameter of 132 ƅ, as determined by X-ray crystallography. The structure was additionally validated by negative stain electron microscopy and small angle X-ray scattering (SAXS) analysis.

Toward new functions, recent computational advances have led to the ability to generate precise geometric variations in de novo–designed protein families, mimicking the ability of evolution to precisely tune the shapes of the members of protein families for new activities (28, 32). Although these designed proteins are not close in sequence to any naturally occurring proteins, principles from structures in the PDB are still the guiding design. Such principles are useful for generating new protein structures through assembly from continuous (33, 35) or discontinuous (25, 36, 37) three-dimensional elements, as well as for the development (38) and optimization (39, 40) of design energy functions used to rank design candidates. Moreover, the most recent developments of deep learning for protein structure prediction (41, 42, 43) foreshadow new methods in the design, taking advantage of learned principles of the protein structure (44, 45). For binder design from target structural information alone, previous work required testing tens of thousands of sequences12.

De novo design of protein structure and function with RFdiffusion

However, designing switches could be seen as a more tractable problem because the external trigger can introduce a large free-energy bias toward one state, making the design success less sensitive to scoring errors. An early study described a protein designed to switch between two distinct target folds triggered by the addition of Zn2+ (154). The authors used a Monte Carlo side-chain design method to optimize the sum of energies of the two folded states, showing that it is possible to design protein switches by solving a single-objective optimization problem. Following similar principles, other proteins were designed to change the oligomerization state in response to a pH change (155) (Fig. 6A) or change conformations in the presence of Ca2+ (156) (Fig. 6B). A modular protein switch that senses a small molecule was designed through an induced dimerization mechanism (12) (Fig. 6C). A ligand binding site for farnesyl pyrophosphate was designed de novo at the interface of a protein–protein heterodimer complex.

We create new proteins that solve modern challenges in medicine, technology, and sustainability.

Designs such as HE0902 (and future similar large assemblies) should be useful as new nanomaterials and vaccine scaffolds, with robust assembly and (in the case of HE0902) the outward facing N and C termini offering many possibilities for antigen display. Grigoryan et al. implemented a set of rule selections to assemble a superstructure of peptides that coat single-walled nanotubes (SWNTs).29 They matched the periodicity of an Ī±-helix to the periodic pattern surface of a SWNT via Ala CĪ² methyl contacts to form a supercoil of Ī±-helical coiled coils. In the presence of mixed types of SWNTs, the designed peptides preferentially sequestered the targeted nanotube species to produce stable aqueous suspensions. Rational protein design techniques must be able to discriminate sequences that will be stable under the target fold from those that would prefer other low-energy competing states. Thus, protein design requires accurate energy functions that can rank and score sequences by how well they fold to the target structure.

Scaffolding enzyme active sites

Here, we use computational protein design to create novel miniproteins that bind to human TLR3 with nanomolar affinities. Cryo-EM structures of two minibinders in complex with TLR3 reveal that they bind the target as designed, although one partially unfolds due to steric competition with a nearby N-linked glycan. Multimeric forms of both minibinders induce NF-ĪŗB signaling in TLR3-expressing cell lines, demonstrating that they may have therapeutically relevant biological activity. Our work provides a foundation for the development of specific, stable, and easy-to-formulate protein-based agonists of TLRs and other pattern recognition receptors. A 4-fold symmetric TIM barrel was designed using the blueprint fragment assembly strategy described above (34). Experimental characterization of the designs revealed important hydrogen bonds defining the strand register between repeat units.

Machine-learning-guided directed evolution for protein engineering

We construct a RF-based diffusion model, RFdiffusion, using the RF frame representation that comprises a CĪ± coordinate and N-CĪ±-C rigid orientation for each residue. We generate training inputs by noising structures sampled from the Protein Data Bank (PDB) for up to 200 steps22. For residue orientations, we use Brownian motion on the manifold of rotation matrices (building on refs. 23,24). To enable RFdiffusion to learn to reverse each step of the noising process, we train the model by minimizing a mean-squared error (m.s.e.) loss between frame predictions and the true protein structure (without alignment), averaged across all residues (Supplementary Methods). This loss drives denoising trajectories to match the data distribution at each timestep and hence to converge on structures of designable protein backbones (Extended Data Fig. 2a). The m.s.e. contrasts to the loss used in RF structure prediction training (frame aligned point error or FAPE) in that, unlike FAPE, m.s.e. loss is not invariant to the global reference frame and therefore promotes continuity of the global coordinate frame between timesteps (Supplementary Methods).

A similar method was also used to identify mutations that increase brightness and shift excitation peaks,64 allow GFP to fold faster,65 and introduce a number of additional properties useful for a wide range of applications. Comparison of force-field performance in simulations of the 78 amino acid protein, ubiquitin. Each column corresponds to a given force field (as indicted) and each row corresponds to a different model for explicit solvent (as indicated).

Expanding the types of molecules supported by scoring functions is critical for designing such protein functions. Scoring functions for DNA (127) and RNA (128) have been successfully applied to structure prediction and design (129, 130). Recently, a scoring function was developed for saccharide and glycoconjugate structures (131) (Fig. 4B). Benchmarking results on docking problems showed that the scoring function has the ability to predict binding of glycan ligands. Small molecules have highly diverse combinations of chemical groups, making it challenging to transfer parameters calculated for representative molecules to other molecules. A new approach (132) simultaneously optimized all parameters in a small-molecule energy function guided by thousands of small-molecule crystal structures.

In the following, we highlight recent developments in scoring functions for membrane proteins and for interactions with nonprotein molecules, as well as scoring approaches that learn from structures in the PDB. There are many areas in the field of the computational de novo protein design where significant progress is needed. To make large sequence optimization problems computationally tractable, scoring functions use a number of approximations such as implicit solvation models and pairwise decomposable energy terms. Current backbone geometry sampling methods are limited to certain secondary structures and fold topologies.

'White House Plumbers' review: A laugh-out-loud spin on the Watergate break-in : NPR

white house plumbers casting

“You are White House employees on the payroll,” instructs Nixon official Bud Krogh (Rich Sommer). “For God’s sake, don’t get caught.” Lena Headey and Judy Greer star as the wives of the men who were ultimately connected to the “third-rate” burglary attempt. The cast also includes Domhnall Gleeson, Ike Barinholtz, Kiernan Shipka, Kathleen Turner, Toby Huss, Kim Coates, Yul Vazquez, and more. Based partly on public records and the book Integrity, The White House Plumbers will be directed by Veep showrunner David Mandel. It’ll be a bit of a reunion project, as the show was created, written, and executive-produced by Veep executive producers Alex Gregory and Peter Huyck. Mandel, Harrelson, and Theroux are also onboard to executive-produce.

Woody Harrelson as E. Howard Hunt

Severance actor Yul Vazquez plays Bernard Barker, a Cuban-born operative who worked for the FBI and CIA before being recruited into the White House Plumbers by Hunt. He was one of the five burglars paid by the CRP to break into the DNC offices—he served one year in prison for the crime. Gordon LiddyJustin takes on the role of former FBI agent G. Gordon Liddy who was tasked with preventing leaks of classified information to the media.

Are you ready to get discovered?

It's a five-episode series running weekly in the UK every Tuesday at the same time and also available as a box set from that day on Sky Box Sets and NOW. The five-episode limited series premieres on HBO and HBO Max on May 1. Parts of White House Plumbers are laugh-out-loud outrageous – but other parts do make you feel for some of these people, and, of course, compare that scandal to more contemporary ones. All the President's Men is one of my favorite movies of all time — and White House Plumbers is good enough to be shown as a very long, all-Watergate double feature. The principals in this particular telling of the story are E. They were called the Plumbers because, well, plumbers locate and stop leaks.

On the TV side he enjoys Only Murders in the Building, Yellowstone, The Boys, Game of Thrones and is always up for a Seinfeld rerun. Later, on the outs with Nixon's Attorney General John Mitchell, Hunt and Liddy get a chance to redeem themselves. Gordon Liddy are tasked with investigating the Pentagon Papers leak, gathering a team of Cubans -- all Bay of Pigs veterans -- to infiltrate whistleblower Daniel Ellsberg's psychiatrist's office. Dita Beard worked for International Telephone and Telegraph Corporation (I.T.T.), which was outside the government. However, a quid pro quo fundraising issue between I.T.T. and the Nixon administration would end up being a key part of the Watergate scandal. McCord was another former CIA operative who was brought on in the official capacity to be the head of security for Nixon's Committee for the Re-Election of the President, but would find himself in the thick of the Watergate scandal. Gleeson is coming off some of the best reviews of his career for the FX series The Patient.

Justin starred in the 2001 movie Mulholland Drive and American Psycho before playing Joe in the series Six Feet Under. He was in the 2006 Miami Vice movie plus the hit film The Girl on The Train. Justin was also in the series Parks and Recreation and last year’s Apple TV+ drama The Mosquito Coast. White House Plumbers is based partly on public records and the book Integrity by Egil ‘Bud’ Krogh and Matthew Krogh. The show follows the two political saboteurs and Watergate masterminds E.

Lesser known perhaps is the other duo at the heart of this scandal, a pair of operatives named E. Gordon Liddy, who also had a hand in toppling the Nixon presidency—except they had been scheming to do the exact opposite. Woody Harrelson and Justin Theroux lead an ensemble cast as Hunt and Liddy. Below, a who's who of White House Plumbers and how they compare to their real-life counterparts.

He is also a writer (Tropic Thunder, Iron Man 2, Rock of Ages) and an Emmy-winning producer for the specials Live in Front of a Studio Audience. Like Hunt, G. Gordon Liddy was a former federal agent, previously working for the FBI before he started working for the Plumbers.

Set in the early 1970s, the series will tell the true story of how Nixon’s own political saboteurs and Watergate masterminds, E. Gordon Liddy, accidentally toppled the presidency they were trying to protect. According to HBO, the show will be based on public records and the book Integrity by Egil “Bud” Krogh and Matthew Krogh. The five-part limited series The White House Plumbers will focus on the true story of how Richard Nixon’s own Watergate masterminds. The Watergate scandal, also known as the Pentagon Papers leak, was last revisited by Starz's "Gaslit" — starring Julia Roberts, Sean Penn, and Shea Whigham — in 2022. However, that political thriller instead focused on how Martha Mitchell, the wife of United States attorney general and presidential campaign chairman John Mitchell, got roped into the chaos and cover-up of the crime.

Given all the projects being flushed down the drain at HBO these days, it’s no surprise that some plumbers have been hired. And who better to play HBO’s Mario and Luigi than Woody Harrelson and Justin Theroux? Okay, fine, The White House Plumbers isn’t actually a show about fixing pipes. As the first trailer for the five-part miniseries shows, Harrelson and Theroux are instead starring as E. Gordon Liddy, the Watergate masterminds who accidentally toppled the presidency they were trying to protect.

Iconic character actress Judy Greer (Reboot, the Halloween franchise) plays Frances, wife of G. The couple were married for more than 50 years and had five children. Check out the official trailers for White House Plumbers directly below for both HBO and Sky Atlantic, which shows that the men that carried out that Watergate break-in may not have been the brightest bulbs... Hunt, Liddy, and the Cubans break into the DNC offices at the Watergate. While Hunt and Dorothy entertain Liddy and his wife, Fran, their kids Lisa and Saint John paint a less-than-perfect portrait of the family.

Right away, you know this new White House Plumbers series is in great hands. Specifically, it's in the hands of writers and creators Alex Gregory and Peter Huyck, both of whom worked on HBO's Veep and The Larry Sanders Show. The director of multiple episodes is David Mandel, who directed episodes of Veep and Curb Your Enthusiasm. And the many executive producers include Frank Rich, who's also an executive producer on Succession. So this group knows how to tell a story in unexpected ways, and to find the humor even in the more serious situations. Many of the infamous names behind the Watergate scandal are being portrayed by famous ones as part of the White House Plumbers cast.

This isn’t about America or even about Nixon; it’s about jostling for position in the upcoming feeding frenzy. It’s about heedlessly chasing former glory (real or imagined) because if you can’t be Oval Office adjacent, you may as well be in a square prison cell. A key figure in the arrest of the Watergate burglars was Frank Wills, a security guard at the hotel/office building complex. In the show, we see Wills (Eddie K. Robinson) have his first interaction with Hunt and the others during their first break-in attempt, but he thinks nothing of it. However, as they continue to try their subsequent break-ins, Wills is often noticing odd things that raise his alarm. It all culminates when he notices a door to the building has had tape put over the latch in order to prevent it from locking.

After the arrests at the Watergate, Dorothy emerges as a hero to Howie’s disgraced band of political criminals, securing payouts from Nixon’s dubious cronies and flying across the country to collect and distribute them. By the end of the episode, though, the mother of four is gone — the death of the series’ most thoughtful character reduced to a jump scare. HBO's NEWEST limited series is a reimagining of the Watergate scandal from the perspective of two of Nixon's most trusted men. Starring Woody Harrelson and Justin Theroux, the show follows E. The two men were part of the White House Special Investigation Unit (nicknamed the White House Plumbers, among other names) and tasked with either stopping or managing leaks of classified information. While at first glance that may all seem above board, in practice the job looked more like breaking into people's offices and rooting through their papers.

White House Plumbers cast — Justin Theroux, Woody Harrelson, Lena Heady and Judy Greer

And, of course, the White House Plumbers' most famous act was the Watergate Scandal. In another scene from Papa Knows Best, Howard knocks down the bathroom door after Lisa locks herself inside, a speedy alternative to coaxing her out with love or even bothering to comfort his worried wife. And it’s not just that Howard is a short-tempered papa when he’s down. He’s a shitty dad in his third at-bat, right after his big win with Dita Beard. There are bad behaviors to correct and those to ignore. Sometimes you just have to let someone escape a tricky situation without a public apology.

Interviews: Woody Harrelson and Juston Theroux give the lowdown on White House Plumbers

The Bozo Brothers are moved off the White House roster and onto the payroll of CREEP. Now, Gordon and Howard are in the crucial business of keeping Nixon president by whatever means necessary. “You impressed the right people,” Dean tells the boys just after Nixon fires Krogh for being unable to stomach the darker electoral arts. He gives them a million dollars to put toward espionage and sabotage, electronic surveillance, and better walkie-talkies. It’s so much money that the Plumbers absolutely should have sprung for the full suite of lock-picking tools, but like the show’s cold open itself, I’m jumping too far ahead. Judy Greer as Fran Liddy Judy plays Fran, Liddy’s unflappable wife who has misplaced faith in her husband’s intelligence and abilities.

For McCord, it turns out, politics was always a job. For Howard, who’s since been fired by the PR firm, too, it remains a religion. In the end, the Cubans completely trash the doctor’s office but still don’t find the file. Not that it matters — the LAPD improbably attributes the crime to drug-seeking junkies, and Nixon’s people approve of Gordon and Howard’s tactics even if they didn’t get results this time around.

Liddy’s Radio Show

But while Hunt’s beginning to doubt Nixon’s loyalty, G. Dean he’s willing to be assassinated for the president — an event that seems unlikely to deflect suspicion from the campaign, but it’s the thought that counts. The first night Gordon and Howard and their band of Cuban brothers attempt a Watergate break-in, the posse divides and doesn’t conquer. After a kickoff dinner, one team is dispatched to George McGovern’s presidential-campaign office, where Gordon’s “man on the inside” gets cold feet and denies them entry and nary a remote listening device is planted. Why did these men need to visit the Watergate at all on the evening in question? After the scandal became public, Wills left his job at the Watergate; the blog says that he did not feel he was given proper compensation (raise and a promotion) for helping to discover the burglary.

These names correspond to the faces of the men on which our story turns. Remember this pivotal date, the date history was made. G. Gordon Liddy served 52 months in prison for his role in organizing the break-ins at the center of the Watergate scandal in May and June 1972. But instead of dooming the former FBI agent turned political operative to obscurity, the misconduct only seemed to boost Liddy’s star power in the decades that followed. Naftali said the second attempt had them bug an empty conference room; the show had them bug a secretary while the bugs on more prominent figures were not working properly.

And from that point forward, the Hunts are forbidden from answering the telephone. The soundtrack of their lives will be the interminable shrill of the family landline. This email will be used to sign into all New York sites.

That’s because this has always been about more than an electoral victory for Hunt and Liddy. Gordon has been picked on all his life, he tells us over and over and over again. Now, he does daily calisthenics (Justin Theroux is very good at push-ups) and exists so close to the president of the United States of America that he irregularly interacts with a guy who regularly interacts with him.

Unfortunately, two of Hunt’s kids — Lisa and Howard Saint John — are at the club that same night. I guess this is where rich kids of the Washington metro area smoked weed before there were shopping malls. Honestly, Turner plays Dita with such dark humor that it feels like Howard probably didn’t even need to bother with the Christmas bonus bribe. She would have lied to Ted Kennedy’s limo-liberal face in exchange for the carton of cigs Hunt smuggles into the hospital for her. Hell, she probably would have done it for the sheer thrill. But it’s in these scenes that we see a glimmer of the CIA agent that Howard may have been once upon a time.

Royal Caribbean will keep full deposit if you cancel your non-refundable cruise fare going forward

how to cancel a royal caribbean cruise

For more information on Royal Caribbean’s Flexible Cancellation Policy, please visit their official website. This policy allows travelers to have more control over their vacations, knowing that they can adjust their plans if needed without incurring hefty cancellation fees. Canceling a Royal Caribbean cruise without penalty is now easier than ever with their Flexible Cancellation Policy. To make changes to your cruise plans, simply visit the Royal Caribbean website and navigate to the “Manage Reservation” page.

Step 5: Cancel your cruise

Whether you’re rescheduling your cruise for a later date or exploring other vacation options, Royal Caribbean is there to assist you every step of the way. After logging in to your Royal Caribbean account, the next step is to navigate to the “Manage My Reservations” section. This is where you can find all the information related to your booked cruises and make any necessary changes or cancellations. In conclusion, Royal Caribbean’s Flexible Cancellation Policy offers passengers the freedom and flexibility to make changes to their cruise plans without unnecessary stress or financial burden.

Over-The-Phone Cancellation

Keep in mind that depending on the website’s layout, you may need to click on or expand the booking details to reveal additional options. Look for buttons or links that say “View Details” or “Expand” to access more information about your cruise reservation. The coverage can vary between policies, and there may be limitations, such as pre-existing condition clauses.

How to Get a Refund After Canceling Royal Caribbean Cruise

Hotels have traditionally offered flexible cancellation terms, provided you did not opt for a non-refundable deposit. Once you determine you want to cancel your cruise, you need to contact whomever you booked your cruise with to make the change. While cruises in the Middle East do not constitute a major region for sailings, it's certainly impacting many lines and people's vacations. Instead of sailing through the Middle East, Serenade of the Seas will transit Africa and offer its guests an immersive tour of the continent.

How to Use a Royal Caribbean Gift Card? (Terms & Policies)

Of course, you may have other purchases made in conjunction with your cruise vacation that is outside of Royal Caribbean. If you booked directly with Royal Caribbean, you can call Royal Caribbean to cancel the reservation. Before you cancel, you should be aware of the terms of cancellation you agreed to when placing that initial deposit. This isn't the first Royal Caribbean cruise to have changes made to avoid the Middle East. Anthem of the Seas was to sail through the Suez Canal as part of a repositioning from Southampton, UK to her new homeport in Singapore. It's not clear yet if any of the scheduled sailings from Singapore will be affected.

Once you pass the final payment date, cancellations that occur may incur a cancellation charge that depends on how close to sailing you decide not to cruise. If you consider canceling before those days, you must ensure that you will not suffer any penalty and will get a full refund. However, if you booked the cruise through any travel agent or third-party website, you must connect with them, and they will surely guide you through the cancellation process. Royal Caribbean made suites non-refundable only a few years ago because of the high demand for them, especially when new sailings were announced.

However, by contacting Royal Caribbean as soon as possible and providing the necessary documentation, you increase your chances of finding a suitable solution that works for both parties. If your cruise was cancelled by the cruise line, you can avoid waiting on the phone to cancel by using an online form. If you want a FCC, there is nothing extra to do, as it will automatically be selected for you by a certain date. Each company you work with will have different cancellation policies, with some being far more flexible than others. The cruise industry has had to reroute and cancel cruises as a result of violence in the area. Instead of sailing through the Suez Canal, Anthem of the Seas will sail without any passengers around Africa.

Canceling a Royal Caribbean Cruise

By requesting a future cruise credit, you retain the value of your payment and can look forward to a future sailing with Royal Caribbean. This option provides flexibility and allows you to plan your cruise at a later date, keeping the excitement alive. If you need to cancel your Royal Caribbean cruise but still want to sail with them in the future, requesting a future cruise credit is a great option.

Step 6: Confirm the cancellation

This policy offers flexibility and convenience, ensuring that you can modify or cancel your cruise if needed, while minimizing any financial burden. Whether it’s a last-minute change of plans or an unforeseen circumstance, Royal Caribbean’s policy allows you to adjust your cruise without the worry of losing your hard-earned money. Planning a cruise can be an exciting experience, but unforeseen circumstances can sometimes disrupt our travel plans.

This page provides detailed information on the policy, including eligibility criteria, cancellation fees, and how to make changes to your reservation. With the flexibility to cancel up to 48 hours before the sail date, Royal Caribbean is putting the power back into the hands of the passengers. This allows individuals and families to make informed decisions and adapt their travel plans based on any unforeseen circumstances or personal preferences.

The type of cruise fare deposit on the reservation and timing of the decision to cancel will ultimately dictate how much of a refund you will receive. If you booked the cruise with a travel agent, and/or any website other than Royal Caribbean's site, you must go through your travel provider to cancel the cruise. Guests booked on the October 14, 2024 sailing of Anthem of the Seas were informed by Royal Caribbean that they have decided to cancel a Middle East cruise because of concerns for the ship's safety. Alternatively, you can call Royal Caribbean directly and have them cancel and/or re-purchase the items to take advantage of the new price. Find the Royal Caribbean customer service number in your country and then work with the agent to make the change.

The good news is, anything you purchase via Royal Caribbean's Cruise Planner is fully refundable up to two days before your cruise is set to begin. If you cancel the item, the value will be refunded back to the form of payment that was originally used within 3-4 business days. This means, if you are debating if you want to buy something from the Cruise Planner, but have not made up your mind, you can lock in these prices and still have time to cancel with no penalty. However, these policies will also vary depending on how far you were to your sailing date.

Under this, you can cancel your cruise, but you will be charged a fee of around or less than $100 per guest. So, before you have made the full deposits, you have two types of cruise fare deposits – refundable and nonrefundable. Waiting for Royal Caribbean to cancel is a gamble, since they may not actually cancel the cruise you booked. Not to mention any related travel expenses (airfare, hotels, etc) are your responsibility to book and manage their cancellations. Finally, it’s always a good idea to reconfirm the cancellation and keep a copy of the cancellation confirmation email or any other relevant documentation for your records.

Log into your Royal Caribbean account and proceed to the Cruise Planner for the sailing you have in mind. With a decade of firsthand experience in the cruising industry, I have developed a deep understanding of the intricacies and wonders that these majestic vessels hold. That’s why there must be a solid reason behind or must meet the policy and covered scenario under which the travel insurance will cover the cost. For example, if you booked the cruise from the Royal Caribbean website, you need to call the Royal Caribbean to cancel the reservation. Effective immediately, the Best Price Guarantee onboard credit option value will be 100% of the price difference (previously 110%).

Understanding the cancellation policies of Royal Caribbean is imperative to make informed decisions when it comes to canceling your cruise. Though it may seem daunting, navigating through the process is crucial to ensure that you are not caught off guard. To recap, there are various channels for canceling, including online through Royal Caribbean’s website, over the phone with their customer service, or via a travel agent. The financial implications, including non-refundable deposit amounts and cancellation charges, differ based on your fare type and how close you are to your sailing date. Being proactive and timely in your cancellation can save you from severe penalties, potentially up to 100% of the total price.
